One Date to Rule Them All....

Screenshot 2026-06-14 at 3.26.18 PM.png

Andrew and Emily both grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, never crossing paths until a good friend (thanks Bre!) introduced them on a night out at Miami University. Even then, they didn’t reunite until several weeks later after badgering said-friend to come up with a good reason to see the other again.

After six wonderful years together, Andrew enlisted the help of one of his professors to plan a surprise. What Emily thought was going to be a law school gala at the Garfield Park Conservatory turnout out to be a beautiful proposal. There was shock, surprise and a few tears shed (mostly by Andrew), but of course she said yes.

Nevertheless, a single point of contention remained. Andrew claimed (with proof) that he asked Emily out on their first date with a delicious Oxford Donut Shoppe treat at 7 a.m. on October 2, 2019. She (wrongly) would confidently claim it was actually October 3 for years afterward. They finally decided to settle this debate by choosing October 23 as their wedding date.
